It is estimated that one in every five individuals experiences some form of mental illness in their lifetime. Just like any disease, a mental illness can negatively impact physical health, relationships, family and job responsibilities.

Current Programs
Mental Illness

Assertive Community Treatment: A multi-disciplinary team approach to provide comprehensive, strength based and flexible services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders who have the most serious challenges living independently in the community.

Case Management: Case Management services to adults with a severe mental illness or co-occurring disorder.

Clubhouse Services: Services available to those with a serious mental illness or a co-occurring disorder who have psychosocial rehabilitative goals that can be achieved in a supportive and structured environment.

Community Living Supports: Necessary supports to adults with severe and persistent mental illness or substance use disorders to live as independently as possible and prepare them for more independent living.

Community Placement: Supports for adults in Licensed Community Foster Care homes.

Consumer-Run Services: Consumer-run drop-in centers that provide an atmosphere of support, recreation, socialization, and relaxation.

Crisis Intervention: Short term, outpatient, intensive alternative to inpatient hospitalization.

Crisis Residential Services: Services that are intended to provide a short-term alternative to inpatient psychiatric services for individuals experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis when clinically indicated.

Enhanced Mental Health Services: Medically necessary supports and services which promote and maintain community inclusion and participation, independence, and productivity.

Facility Liaison Services: Liaison services to adults who have been authorized by for admission to Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital (KPH) and other state facilities.

Housing Assistance: Resources for individuals who are experiencing a housing emergency that impacts their psychiatric stability.

Kent County Correctional Facility: Mental health and jail diversion services to adults with a mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and/or developmental disabilities.

Michigan Prisoner Re-Entry Mental Health Program: Service delivery and coordination for eligible parolees or other consumers released from prison.

Nursing Facility Mental Health Monitoring: Nursing home monitoring services to adults with mental illness residing in a nursing facility.

OBRA PAS/ARR: Pre-admission screenings, annual resident reviews, and appeal notifications for nursing home placements.

Outpatient Services: Services designed to provide face-to-face individual and group treatment.

Outreach Services: Outreach services to individuals in Kent County who have mental health needs, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders or who are at risk of becoming seriously mentally ill and/or developing a substance use disorder.

Psychiatric Support Services: Psychiatric support services to adults with mental illness or co-occurring disorder.

Recovery Academy: This program is intended to increase and support individual peer participation in various systems, planning groups, committees and meetings. Click here for class schedule.

Specialized Residential: Specialized Residential services are designed for adults with a severe and persistent mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.

Support and Service Coordination: Supports coordination services and/or individual/group therapy to adults in Kent County who have mental health needs, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders or who are at risk of becoming seriously mentally ill and/or developing a substance use disorder.

Supported Employment: Therapeutic work activity through Community-Based Supported Employment to individuals with a mental illness or co-occurring disorder.

Supported Housing – Genesis: Support services to adults with severe mental illness or a co-occurring disorder or developmental disability.
