Secondary Trauma for Helping Professionals

About this Training:
This workshop addresses issues related to working with inidviduals who have experienced trauma.  It will include information about secondary trauma experienced by staff, skills for coping with seocndary trauma, and the relationship between trauma and culture. 

Training Objectives:   
Participants will be able to: 

  • Define Trauma and Secondary Trauma
  • Identify Examples of the Impact of Trauma and Secondary Trauma
  • Idenfiy skills to cope with the stress of Secondary Trauma
  • Define Culture
  • Identify Elements of a Culturally Competent and Trauma-Informed Assessment

    Who Should Attend?
    This course is designed for anyone who provides services to persons who have experienced trauma.  This training particularly targets staff who work in school settings; staff working in other settings are also welcome.

Roll out of the new MANDT Training

Please note:  Beginning October 2014 we will be rolling out the new MANDT training.  This training will be taking place of the WWP Positive Behavior Supports, WWP Human Needs, as well as the Emergency Physical Intervention trainings.  September is the final month these trainings will be offered.  The MANDT training is a three-part training.  Check with your agency to see which of these trainings are required.  The trainings can be found on the training calendars starting with October 2014.  You must take the MANDT trainings in the numerical order listed.  MANDT day 1; MANDT day 2; and MANDT day 3.

Online Format Trainings Now Available 

Nutrition, Environmental Emergencies, & Role of Support Provider Online Format Trainings Now Available In addition to Recipient Rights. Network180 is pleased to begin offering Nutrition, Environmental Emergencies, & Role of Support Provider trainings in an online format! General details about the launch of online trainings can be found in this August 2013 letter.
To take online trainings: Log on to the network180 Learning Management System (LMS). Under the Classes-Available tab, look for training name in the alphabetical list of available classes, and select the training that includes “(online)” at the end of the title. Complete the training, take the final test, and access your certificate on the LMS. 


Computing Requirements for Online Training:

  • Adobe Flash player 7 or higher is necessary
  • Internet Explorer 7 or higher is the recommended browser and necessary to receive support from network180.  If you are experiencing difficulties with an online trainings, it may be helpful to operate Internet Explorer in Compatibility Mode.
  • Microsoft Windows is the recommended operating system and necessary to receive support from network180
  • Note: Other operating systems and browsers may work, but network180 has not tested them and can only support Windows and Internet Explorer
