This two-hour training is an introduction to Cultural Competence.

Cultural Competence refers to a dynamic process of continual self-assessment by which individuals and systems respond respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, classes, languages races, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and faiths or religions, and other diversity factors in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of individuals, families, tribes, and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.

Cultural Competency is gaining knowledge about individuals and groups and converting that knowledge into behavior that results in quality communications and services.
